Time flows like water, and 75 years of the Dhamma have passed like a gentle stream.
In 2026, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Śrī Kalyāṇī Yogāśrama Saṁsthā, a Sri Lankan forest hermitage. Established on June 18, 1951, in the Galduwa forest by the Most Venerable Kadawedduwe Jinavaṁsa Mahāthera—honored with the titles Śrī Āryavilāsa Vaṃsālaṇkāra Saddharmavāgīśvarācārya, Mahopādhyāya, and Paṭipatti Sobhana Gaṇapāmokkhācariya—this tradition has become renowned for its strict adherence to the Vinaya and its dedication to diligent meditation. It is considered one of the most rigorous monastic communities in Sri Lanka and the largest forest monastic order in the country.
These 75 years have been an extraordinary journey. Countless monastic talents have grown within this forest hermitage, continuing the Buddha's legacy and upholding the heritage of the Tathāgata. The Dhamma lineage is like a lamp, passed from one flame to another; the Dhamma-water flows endlessly, nourishing all directions.
Dhamma Gift | 2027 Fifty Uposatha Day Calendar – Sharing a Wholesome Connection
To commemorate this auspicious occasion, DhammaJāta Arañña（Meditation Society）offers the "2027 Fifty Uposatha Day Calendar" to the public as a gesture of Dhamma connection. Uposatha days are times of purification—when the monastic community recites the Pāṭimokkha, and lay devotees observe the Eight Precepts. This calendar carries not only dates but also the recollection of the Dhamma, support for the Saṅgha, and protection of the true teachings.
