Dear Dhamma Friends and Devotees,

With abundant blessings and Dhamma Joy,

Today June 18th, 2026 (Mon) Morning 09:00a.m., marks a profoundly significant and supremely auspicious day for DhammaJāta Arañña (Main Headquarters) — Śrī Kalyāṇī Yogāśrama Saṁsthā, the Sri Lankan forest tradition hermitage. It is both the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the order and the day of the annual Bhikkhu Higher Ordination (Upasampadā) ceremony. A day of rejoicing for both devas and humankind alike!

I. 75 Years of Transmission — The Dhamma Lineage Continues

Śrī Kalyāṇī Yogāśrama Saṁsthā — since its founding on June 18th, 1951 — has now entered its 75th year. Over these seventy-five years, the Saṅgha has upheld the Buddha's teachings, taking the Vinaya as their teacher and the Dhamma as their guide. Generation after generation, the Dhamma has been transmitted without interruption — the Dhamma-water flowing long, benefiting countless beings.

Today's grand ceremony is led by The Most Venerable Pahalavitiyala JanaNanda Mahāthera — the Patriarch and Chief Preceptor (Upajjhāya) of Śrī Kalyāṇī Yogāśrama Saṁsthā — who, together with the Ordination Committee of the Sangha, will conduct the Upasampadā ceremony at the Galduwa Water Sīmā (SKYS) at the Main Headquarters.

II. Many Monastic Talents Emerge — Devas and Humans Rejoice

After rigorous examinations, over 100 novices (Sāmaṇeras) from Sri Lanka and abroad have passed the Bhikkhu ordination examination. They will be conferred the Bhikkhu Upasampadā from today June 18th to 22nd (and for several days thereafter, depending on the number of candidates) in accordance with the Vinaya, officially becoming new Bhikkhus under the Buddha's dispensation.

After ordination, the newly ordained Bhikkhus must, in accordance with the Vinaya, remain in dependence (Nissāya) for five years without leaving their preceptor, diligently studying the Dhamma and engaging in meditation practice, thereby establishing a solid foundation for their monastic character, to become vessels for future Dhamma propagation and the benefit of all beings.

III. Continuing the Buddha's Life-line — A Field of Merit for All Beings

The Saṅgha is the custodian of the Buddha's teachings and the field of merit for all beings. The ordination of new Bhikkhus means new Dhamma heirs, and the community gains a new generation of monastic Dharma-propagators.

Donning the saffron robe is to perpetuate the Buddha's life-line without end.

We express our gratitude to:

🙏 The Most Venerable JanaNanda Mahāthera and the Ordination Saṅgha for their compassionate vows and guidance

🙏 The elder monks for their years of effort in nurturing monastic talents

🙏 All devotees for their unwavering faith and support

We rejoice in:

🌺 The courageous resolve of the new Bhikkhus in renouncing worldly life in service to the Dhamma

🌺 The merits of all devotees who have contributed to this auspicious occasion

IV. All Are Welcome to Share in the Merits

The higher ordination of Bhikkhus is a great event for the continuation of the Buddha's life-line. On this most auspicious day, we sincerely invite all virtuous devotees to participate, rejoice in the merits, share in the Dhamma blessings, and cultivate blessings and wisdom together.

Mahā Sādhu! Anumodāmi!

Excellent! We rejoice in the merits!

Limitless merits indeed!

May the merits of this ordination ceremony be dedicated to:

🕊️ The Most Venerable JanaNanda Mahāthera — may he enjoy good health and long life, and remain in this world for many years to come

📿 The newly ordained Bhikkhus — may they observe pure precepts, progress diligently, and become great monastic leaders of the Dhamma

🙏 The true Dhamma — may it long endure in the world, the Wheel of Dhamma turning forever, and the lamp of wisdom shining eternally

🌍 World peace — may all beings dwell in happiness, harmony, and together realize enlightenment

🐘 Many Monastic Talents Emerge · The True Dhamma Long Endures · A Day of Great Joy for All

️ Buddha Sāsanaṃ Ciraṃ Tiṭṭhatu.

May the Buddha's Dispensation be Prolonged.

🙏 "Sabbe Sattā Bhavantu Sukhitattā."

May all beings be Well & Happy.
