Cultivating the Ten Meritorious Deeds Together to Repay the Four Profound Blessings
Vesak is the sacred day commemorating the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and passing away — one of the most important festivals in Buddhism.
Cultivating the Ten Meritorious Deeds Together means the community gathers to practice the ten wholesome deeds that accumulate merit (Giving, Virtue, Meditation, Reverence, Service, Rejoicing, Transference of Merit, Listening to Dhamma, Teaching Dhamma, and Holding Right Views).
Repaying the Four Profound Blessings means dedicating the merits of this collective practice to repay four kinds of deep kindness:
Parents' Kindness — gratitude for the nurturing and care of our parents
Kindness of All Beings — gratitude for the mutual support of all sentient beings
National Kindness — gratitude for the stability and protection provided by our country and society
Triple Gem's Kindness — gratitude to the Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha for guiding us toward liberation
Buddha Sāsanaṃ Ciraṃ Tiṭṭhatu.
May the Buddha's Dispensation be Prolonged.
